BIM-GIS-Based Integrated Framework for Underground Utility Management System for Earthwork Operations

Underground utilities are important assets that provide basic services for society’s daily life. They generally very complex and remain unnoticed until they fail due to any particular reason. The stakeholders involved in the design, construction, maintenance of utility infrastructure face many problems traditional underground management system, resulting injuries, loss life, disruptions, project delays, financial loss. problem with system is it uses 2D drawings keeps unreliable information or a lack updated information, which makes an inefficient system. With advancement construction technology, we can address this effectively by integrating BIM GIS. In paper, novel integrated BIM-GIS framework systems was developed on basis IFC CityGML mapping. It provides effective facilitates designers optimization assists excavator’s operator providing real-time three-dimensional spatial during process, acts as as-built database facility management. For validation, case study indicated proposed comprehensive at different stages.
